Peruvian Embassy Donates Book To Spanish Section, Modern Languages, SOL.

PERUVIAN EMBASSY DONATES BOOK TO SPANISH SECTION, MODERN LANGUAGES, SOL.

The Consul of the Peruvian Embassy, Mr. Miguel Ramirez, has on behalf of the Embassy donated books to the Spanish Section of the Department of Modern Languages, School of Languages, at a brief ceremony at Casa Hispanica (University of Ghana). Present at the ceremony were some officials and staff from the School of Languages and the Institute of African Studies.

Mr. Miguel Ramirez, appreciated the presence of all at the ceremony, and encouraged teachers to efficiently use the donated books for their lessons on literature and culture. Mr. Ramirez stated that the first batch of books to be donated was selected by their personnel in Lima and it included one by their nobel laureate. Accompanying Mr. Ramirez was Ms. Emma Kamau who briefed all present at the ceremony on the 10th Edition of the Peru Music Festival, a project supported by UNESCO. Ghana has been invited as the first African guest country to this festival which will be held during the first semester of the 2017/2018 academic year.

The Dean of the School of Languages expressed her gratitude for the Embassy’s support and donation. She looked forward to further collaboration between the School of Languages and the Peruvian Embassy on various fronts. She also commended staff of the Embassy, who are all former students of the Spanish Section, for being good ambassadors of the University.

The event ended with a cocktail at the courtyard of the Reginald Amonoo Building during which Peruvian foods and drinks were served.
